I Spy A Spy Girl: SALT

I am never much of an action-movie-fan type of girl. Chick flicks mostly fill my movie list. But when I see a kick-ass spy chick and a top CIA operative like Evelyn Salt, gone are the pink frills, because, this, I just had to see.

Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) is a Russian sleeper spy, who was sworn into duty since she was young girl. When she was accused by a fellow Russian named Vassily Orlov (Daniel Olbrychski) that a Russian spy would kill the Russian President during the funeral of the Vice President of the USA and that certain spy has the same name as hers, the CIA went capturing her.

Out to protect her husband, she went on a running spree to make sure that no one could harm him. Even her partner, Ted Winter (Liev Schreiber), did not believe that after years of training with the group, she would betray them all. But as her mission to her country is getting near the deadline, will her skills and knowledge make her execute her duties, bring back the love of her life and stop those who are trying to capture her? Watch SALT and go all throughout her massive quest for her country.

The movie, although there are lots of one to two minute flashbacks, were unpredictable. Though confusing at some parts, on who’s who and who’s really sleeping with the enemy, the storyline has a goal – To make Salt achieve the plan that has been set out for them for a long time. But since she has learned to love Mike Krause (August Diehl), her husband, Evelyn has gone what most women experience when it comes to the matters of the heart. I never thought that this movie has everything, action, thriller, a kick-ass chick and a little bit of romance on the side.

Truly, this is not just for the boys to drool at Angelina Jolie’s hotness factor, but also to empower bad-ass women like her. The effects are colossal and the stunts were oh-so-wild. Whenever Angelina Jolie tries to leap out of a building or transfer from one cargo truck to another, makes you want to leap out to help her.

4 and a half stars for this awesome movie. Oh, and if she only wore spiked heels, I’d be praising Evelyn Salt for all eternity.

Boracay, How I missed you so much.

My first trip to Boracay was brought about my love for the beach and my passion to see the different parts of Philippines. Before I could even go there, I asked my friends about the sights, the food and the night life in Boracay. Some say it was a heavenly experience, while some fell in love with the place and would go there in a heartbeat.

As my then-boyfriend was arranging the trip, I also found an affordable way to travel there through Seair's Leisure Escape Package. The transaction was fast, hassle free and the agents were friendly. The three days and two nights we spent there is my most memorable summer ever. The beach, the powdery sand, and the environment was so infectious that I didn't want to go back to Manila anymore.

Recently, I found out that Seair and Microtel Boracay will hold a Blogger's Tour from September 10-12, 2010 and it includes round trip tickets from Manila to Caticlan and accommodation at Microtel Boracay! I believe that I should be chosen to join the tour because there are still places in Boracay that were left for me to discover. Because we were only two who went that time, my Boracay experience was limited to swimming, dining out and partying with whoever we meet that time. I haven't been to the Crystal Cove yet, nor did I went snorkeling, and I even wanted to ride the ATV's that were lined up along the way.

And since the traveling date happens to fall near my birthday, a Boracay trip will definitely be one of the best birthday gifts I would receive on my 25th birthday. Imagine celebrating the "first quarter" of your life in paradise, right? Priceless.

So pretty please Seair, make a wanderlust's birthday wish come true. :) I miss the sand, the beach and the adventures of Boracay. And friends, please help me go to Bora by clicking this link and LIKE my post. Thanks!

Happy Three Months Baby! :)

And I'd still YES, over and over again :D

Dear By,

We never thought this was possible. We thought that the two months we have spent together is the last of it. Two days before our monthsary, we anticipated that something will happen again, because for the life of us, every monthly celebration of ours is a struggle. Yes, we love each other, but circumstances occur that eventually hurt us both. When this monthsary is nearing, we dreaded that our misunderstanding will lead to another goodbye. But surprise, surprise, it didn't. Maybe because we both grew up. We both learned. And we both lived about the fact that nothing could ever break us apart.

We both have a complicated past. Our first goodbye was brought about mine, and the fact that our arguments are haunting me and what I've been through for the past three and something years. Our second farewell was yours, and what I thought I couldn't bear to take. But again, our love was far more greater than our trials. It is far better than any goodbyes. When you were contemplating about the fact that I may not take it, I picked, chose and loved you. My norms went backseat suddenly. My no-no's became okay, to yes. Because as your sister told me when I was grieving about our goodbye, "Love will conquer all", and its up to us to make that a reality.

Up until now, we are both fighting our battles. I won't deny that sometimes, I get tired, but you know that your love makes me strong and make me believe that I could go on. I may get weak for the most part, but were good as a team. We couldn't do it without the other. So as long as we have our love, were so good. I have never been a quitter when it comes to love. I push and shove until I know its worth fighting for. And I know that you are one of those people. Because the moment I said yes to you, I know you're special, and I know you are worth the wait. :)

Someday, I know everything will finally be alright. After all, we have been through a lot together. That sometimes, I begin to laugh because the trials we have surpassed seem like we've been together for a lot of years already. But still, here we are, three months and counting.

Above all, thank you for always loving me, for always making sure that I'm fine. For the support that you've been stressing out when I feel bad about work or the pressure that's been coming from the parents :P. For loving all my friends and even taking care of them, the way I do. For being like a best friend when all my friends couldn't be there for me. For doing all my whims and treating me like a princess and most of all, for making me your only one.

Love you much Jeff, always have and always will :)

The Attack of the Killer Heels

Me.Loves.Shoes.Much.

My boyfriend spoils me.... a lot. And now, my love for heels has gone up because he always make sure to fetch me in front of the office and drop me off in front of our doorstep, so I'm not used to walking anymore.

Yup, it's a good thing but when his car's on coding or he's busy, the attack of the killer heels come to life. The pumps are not my best friend anymore. They would look sparkly and shiny and they drag the life out of you. Figuratively.

Last Wednesday, By asked me to go with him to his basketball game with his friends and cousins. Because he promised that Che will be there with me, said I'd be there. But then, I forgot that morning that I was wearing my favorite shoes, and that Megamall is so busy that the traffic was so bad. Told him I'd meet him at SM North so he could just see me there and wait until I arrive. From Megamall, I had to walk around Shangrila to the MRT station. Reaching Trinoma, I was being pissed at my boyfriend for the reason that the killer heels are beyond my patience. Oh, and he wanted me to meet him at Annex because he thought its the best possible way for us to meet immediately, apparently, its just isn't the case. Thank God he finally understood how irritated my voice was already, that he picked me up at Trinoma instead.

Or maybe I just need to go to Manels' and buy new shoes at their Retro Anniversary Sale. 50% on all items is a great, great way to spend our Third Month as a couple. Yes? :D

After fetching me, we all went to his house. Met his Mom. Yes, I love you boyfriend, thanks for making me meet your Mom when my shoes are paralyzing my feet already. Kidding. He says I'm proud of me because I didn't chicken out or anything. And I met his friends and cousins. Oh, and they look like F4. Since they were four that time, and they're all Chinese, I almost thought they'd sing. And Jeff might just be the vocalist. Hehehe.

Happy Third Month!!!

In a few hours, By and I will be celebrating our third month. I kept telling Mench yesterday that the days felt shorter this time. She said that maybe because things changed. And maybe because we are working towards the same goal now and we learned a lot from the past months. Our relationship has been tested by a lot of trials already. I cannot, for the life of me, believe that I experienced a lot of growing up now that I'm with him. The taboos and the no-no's that I have in the past are now different. Because we are different. And what we have is real.

Now I'm really excited on what's coming our way in a few months. It will always be a roller coaster ride, but you know you take my breath away love.

Happy weekend everyone!

Nokia C3 -- And Here's a Drool-Worthy!

Presenting Nokia C3! In Hot Hot Pink!

I was never really a phone person. Although I have two (for Globe and Sun Cellular), communicators and smart phones never really amuse me. I just need something to send messages and call and that's it. I wouldn't mind if it has less pixels of a camera or it cannot transmit Microsoft Word documents.

This might be the very first time that I would buy a phone because of vanity. And because it looks so great in pink, I promised myself that I'm going to get one, once it hit the Philippine shores. Specifications include GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, 320 x 240 pixels, 2.4 inches, Full QWERTY keyboard, 55 MB internal but up to 16GB external memory, Wi-Fi capable. For more specifications, visit gsmarena.com.

They say this will be out in the Philippine market by July 2010. But I haven't seen one out yet. Guess I'll be dreaming for now.

It All Begins With A Choice: Eclipse

Eclipse is the third book to the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. After its opening day, BPI 24/7 staged a block-off screening at Greenbelt 3 to further introduce the Internet-based BPI Express Mobile, where you can access your transactions with the power of your thumb. Very easy, isn't it?Thanks to BPI 24/7, Marist Nagera and my friend, Karch, I got to watch one of the most awaited movies this year.

Now I've read the whole series and Eclipse is actually my favorite book out of the four. I don't know if its because of the fighting scenes that were formed inside my head while reading the book or the fact that the Edward-Bella-Jacob triangle grew much, much deeper. In the movie, they concentrated about the newborn vampires, history of the other Cullens (Rosalie and Jasper), the fight scenes among the Cullens and the clan that Victoria tried to create just so she could seek revenge for James.

What I love most about the movie was how they presented Jacob (Taylor Lautner) to be very obnoxious regarding Bella's (Kristen Stewart) feelings for him. They might have rubbed too much arrogant lotion to Jacob's bare abs, but it it made Bella decide who she really loves. That Bella is still human and is now facing a very difficult choice, to be a vampire and be with the one she loves the most, Edward (Robert Pattinson), or stay human and pick Jacob, where she doesn't need to change. And that personally bit me.

The fight scenes were great. Riley Briers (Xavier Samuel) is good looking, that I wanna be bitten by him. I feel bad about Bree Tanner (Jodelle Ferland) though, because she looks like someone is afraid of what's gotten into her and was forced to fight for something she doesn't know about.

Four and a half stars, and not because of Jacob's abs, or Edward's sparkly skin. I prefer Bella's dilemma and how she faced it. Now I'm more excited of Breaking Dawn and how Renesmee would look like. :D

Be In Love: Letters to Juliet

"Love has no expiration date"

Amanda Seyfried stars to another romantic movie, Letters to Juliet. As Sophie (Seyfried) goes to Verona, home to star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, for a pre-honeymoon with her beau, Victor, she discovered the "Secretaries of Juliet", a group who answers the letters addressed to Juliet by women who writes about their love problems and difficulties. As a fact-checker and a "wanna-be" writer, she joins the group and answered the letter that was written fifty years ago by Claire (Vanessa Redgrave) about her lover, Lorenzo Bartolini.

She was then confronted by Claire's grandson, Charlie, who was enraged by the fact that she encouraged Claire to look for Lorenzo all over Italy. Watch their adventures as they search for true love and discover if it could stand through time, even if the love story is fifty years in the making.

Five stars for the movie, and now, I am loving Amanda Seyfried even more. She was not that cutesy and she proved that she was someone serious in this film. The setting was superb. Its like visiting Italy even if you're just sitting in a theater.

And yeah, I fell in love over and over. Films like these makes you believe that time can outstand a love that is real and merely impossible.
