In a world where ideas of being a woman are often defined by stereotypes and media messages, it’s quite common to be subjected to gender stereotypes that have little to do with your abilities or appearance. While these harmful preconceptions have been ingrained in society, social media has connected millions of women who continuously inspire each other to defy gender stereotypes.

Coca-Cola believes that improving women’s economic conditions enables the creation of more empowered communities. In 2010, the beverage company made a global commitment to empower 5 million women across its value chain by 2020. Today, on International Women’s Day, Coca-Cola announced that it has surpassed its global goal, enabling more than 6 million women through 318 programs across 100 countries. Here in the Philippines, Coca-Cola announced that it has successfully supported the economic empowerment of about 250,000 women retailers all over the Philippines—this represents 21% of the total universe of small sari-sari store owners in the country.

Every woman can dream of long and wavy hair, for thick and luscious lashes, to be sexier, to have a fairer complexion. But in these days of social media and the consequent social pressure, it can feel like saying it or acting on it can end in being judged. But here’s the thing- every woman has the right to feel beautiful and to define that beauty for herself. If that means going the extra mile, then so be it.

As the country’s top-selling and award-winning beauty soap Kojie.san aims to empower women to be braver and bolder. It doesn't just believe in lightening one's skin for beauty's sake, but doing it because a woman wants to; because maybe it makes her happier, and definitely it boosts her confidence.

"Beauty isn’t just stripping down to the natural, it’s also going a little extra. It isn’t just being subtle, it’s also going all out and loud. Loving all kinds of beauty means loving all kinds of beauty no matter how bold it gets," said Jann Kelcey Chua, Kojie.san Senior Brand Manager.
Kojie.san is encouraging women to break free of the mold—own their bodies, their faces, and their skin. That means whatever they choose to do with their beauty is their decision and no one else's.

"Kojie.san has always been a game-changer in the beauty business. We urge women to take control of their beauty decisions with “Command Beauty”. Let no one shame them for these decisions. We want them to tell their stories to inspire others to be loud and proud," Chua added.
On a corporate level, Beauty Elements Ventures Inc. (BEVi), the company that owns Kojie.san, will also be getting louder as it expands its operations outside beauty category. Now with the capacity to produce top-tier products for global players, the company isn’t just leading the skincare category, they’re taking command of an industry. As a 100% Filipino company, BEVI hopes that soon they can help lead the charge to take command on the global stage.

teens,
Throwback Thursday! Last night, my high school friends and I were group chatting in Facebook and posting letters we sent to each other when we were still attending school. It definitely brought back a lot of memories as we hit our puberty years, trying to make it good in school, having crushes, and battling problems as our body slowly changes. I wish Johnson & Johnson could have seen us that time, because now they are pioneering a shift in their philosophy by changing the mindset of teen girls about entering the puberty stage , and letting them have the confidence to show their real selves and the courage to see the real people behind them.

I have always been proud of my Pinoy roots. And
this September, I am more proud that one of my favorite clothing brands, Ensembles, released their 4th installment of its Young
Designer Series featuring the collection of Chris Diaz. The
past collections featured James Reyes,
Debbie Co, Louis Claparols and Choc & Yvette Religioso. And today there’s no better
way to show this beautiful line than to be modeled by one of the premier
actresses in the country, Ms. Carmina Villarroel. Two such talented Pinoys in
one collection is definitely a celebration of success.
