Ensembles Features Chris Diaz at Young Designer Series Holiday 2012 Collection

I have always been proud of my Pinoy roots. And this September, I am more proud that one of my favorite clothing brands, Ensembles, released their 4^th installment of its Young Designer Series featuring the collection of Chris Diaz. The past collections featured James Reyes, Debbie Co, Louis Claparols and Choc & Yvette Religioso. And today there’s no better way to show this beautiful line than to be modeled by one of the premier actresses in the country, Ms. Carmina Villarroel. Two such talented Pinoys in one collection is definitely a celebration of success.

The Ensembles by Chris Diaz Holiday 2012 collection attributes to the wearability and artistry of the clothes. Diaz’s design is primarily made of lace, soft fabrics and color blocking. Starting from flattering tops in chiffon and poplin to the dresses and skirts, this 17 piece collection shows femininity and a little romanticism that definitely suits any Pinay.

As Carmina Villarroel shows us how a strong Filipina is, raising up to life’s challenges, having a rocking career from talk shows to primetime soap opera ( I just love her in Lorenzo’s Time), while juggling being a mother to her beautiful twins. Like Chris Diaz’s collection, Carmina Villarroel fits to the bill of empowerment and fulfillment.

Chris Diaz definitely is the best choice for the Young Designer Series since he is well-known in the Manila fashion industry after becoming a finalist in the 2002 MEGA Young Designers Competition. Labeled as a “Romantic” Designer, his trademarks for his work are feminine frills, lace and florals. He said, “I’m very excited with this collaboration! There’s a lot for everyone – a balance of feminine silhouette and use of romantic element and a smart range of color blockings that will flatter everyone!”.  And with that, I’m pretty sure more Filipinas would well embrace his style.
