Whenever I see a Christmas Tree being lighted,  I feel that it is a symbol of hope,  joy and love.  It gives you that feeling to overcome all the odds and it is the time to celebrate again with your loved ones.  And just like last November 4, the Giant Tree was lighted at the Araneta Center - a tradition for the last 35 years.

To celebrate this memorable event,  the hottest Kapamilya celebrities - Alex Gonzaga,  Inigo Pascual,  Loisa Andalio, Goin' Bulilit kids, Maris Racal,  Vivoree Esclito and Marco Gallo - all performed before the tree was lighted.

In partnership with PLDT,  games and Christmas deals were also presented that night.  Daryl Ong,  Jason Day and Jonalyn Viray serenaded their fans and Dawn Chang gave a sexy dance number to the viewers.

Aside from the performances,  the Araneta Center also invited kids from the He Cares Mission and all received early Christmas gifts, aside from getting up close with their favorite stars.

The ceremonial tree lighting was led by the Unkabogable Star,  Vice Ganda,  together with Vice Chairman Judy Roxas, other executives of the Araneta Center and the 2016 Binibining Pilipinas Winners.

For the past 35 years,  the 100-feet tall Giant Tree is lighted every Christmas season. This takes two months to complete,  in time for the tree lighting every November.  In the 80's the tree used to be small,  but they now used garlands and elaborate ornaments,  resembling a real pine tree,  for all of us to enjoy.  Now don't you think it's time to visit this classic Christmas Tree?

As an early holiday celebration,  Araneta Center also announced that they will be giving away a brand new Isuzu mu-X to a lucky patron, while ten winners can win an overnight stay at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center. The "Feel The Ride" promo runs from November 4 - January 15, 2017, where you can join for a single receipt purchase worth PHP1,000.

The Araneta Center Grand Christmas Tree Lighting is made possible by PLDT Home, Coca-Cola, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen and Jollibee. To know more about Araneta Center's exciting events, you may visit their website at
