Last year, the KWC or Karaoke World Championship Philippines made amateur singers Lyda Shyla Roxas and Joel Cruz become world champion singers during the competition at Killarney, Ireland. One year have passed and the Search for the 2012 Filipino Karaoke Champions begin this August and here's the best part Amateur Singing Contest Champions from 2010 to May 2012 are invited to join the auditions for them to become world class quality performers.

Yes, I would grab the mic at any time :P

In our house, I am such the Videoke Queen. During special occasions, my Tita Pin would wait for me to set up our Wow Videoke and we would sing until the wee hours of the morning. Yup, that's how my family is so addicted to singing. And when the bloggers held their first Karaoke Night courtesy of KWC Philippines, I signed up real quick. After the contest, I bagged second place and was so over the moon about it.

Yay! Passport to the daily trial!

And then one day, Ms. Ana Porto announced that 10 Daily Trial Passports are about to be sponsored by Wow Videoke. So I signed up again so I could try my luck at a singing contest. You see, when I were in college, I tried joining the UST - AB Singing Contest in 4th Year and was part of the Circle of 25. Sadly, I didn't get the chance to go to the Finals after that. And I guess my yearning to join singing contests ceased because of it.

But anyway, if you happen to get interested in joining KWC's Daily Trials, you can avail of the passport by buying WOW Videoke Products in music stores and malls around Metro Manila.

Just so you know, all my favorite numbers are in my trial number :P

Once there, you will get to register your details so they can identify if you are qualified to join the Karaoke World Championship. You can go over the qualifications here. Then they will let you practice in their cute Videoke booths and they'll take a photo of you too! :)

After a brief introduction of your name and what city you're representing, you can sing your chosen piece, of course, with a videoke and judges in front you. Then afterwards, they will interview you for a rundown on your KWC experience.

How would I rate myself? Well, my performance was a bit edgy since I was already sick before I even scheduled the trial. But I say kudos to myself for trying. After all, I became a blogger because I wanted to try new experiences and adventures, and KWC made it possible for me to join something this big.

Will I do it again? Hopefully, I'm praying that I get into the Weekly Trials, but if not, I can always try next year. Maybe 2012 is my lucky year. And remember, always reach for your dreams. If someone tells you that you don't sing well, just practice until you get better. Who knows, you can be the first Karaoke Champion who can represent our country all over the world.

Do you love singing in karaoke? Are you an amateur singer? Be proud of your Pinoy talent and join Karaoke World Championship Philippines' 2011 Male and Female Karaoke Champions to compete in Killarney, Ireland this September.

Karaoke World Championship started in 2003 at Finland. For seven years, it has brought singers from more than 30 countries to showcase their Karaoke talent to the world. This 2011, the Philippines is proud to have been granted the chance to send our Pinoy Pride to compete for this year's Karaoke World Championship and perform overseas.

Ms. Cris Llamo, President of the KWC Philippines said, "We believe that Filipinos are karaoke champions. We can outshine the karaoke singers of other countries and reign in this year's competition. Together, let us prove Pinoy and Pinay Power in Karaoke singing".

To be able to join in the KWC Philippine Trials, you can purchase any WOW Videoke product from May 1 to June 30, 2011. As a proof of purchase, a KWC Daily Trial Passport shall be given to join the competition. The KWC Daily Trial Passport is transferable so you can nominate yourself, a friend or a relative for the trial. Of course, the candidates must be 18 years old and above, must be an amateur singer and eligible to travel abroad.

Starting May 30 to July 9 from Mondays to Saturdays, 1-6 P.M., the KWC Daily Trials Venue is open to aspiring contestants, located at 1081 EDSA, Balintawak, Quezon City. The top three male and top three female scorers in the Daily Trial will compete to the Weekly Trials to held at designated SM Malls:

June 5 - SM Southmall

June 12 - SM Sta. Mesa

June 19 - SM Marikina

June 26 - SM Fairview

July 3 - SM Manila

July 10 - SM Manila

The National Championship will be held at the SM Mall of Asia on July 23 and the best male and female karaoke singers will represent the country in the Karaoke World Championship in Killarney, Ireland. And wait, there's more! The Philippine Champions will win an all-expense paid trip to Ireland with pocket money of Php100,000 each, a Seinnheiser Freeport Wireless Microphone (Just like Charice's mic!), a WOW Concerto, a year's endorsement contract with WOW Videoke and a chance to be a Talk 'N Text talent.

Ms. Ana and Sir Jason host the Bloggers' Karaoke Night

Last night, KWC Philippines hosted a Karaoke Night for bloggers to further promote the 2011 Philippine Karaoke World Championship. It was such a fun night for all the bloggers and guests as we all sing the night away. We didn't mind the rain, we just sang with good company and great tunes from the WOW Videoke.

Let us bring the Philippine Pride to the world!

Ms. Jin Bagasina, KWC Publicist, briefed us the qualifications on how to join the competition. Everyone was so excited because it will be our first time to compete in the Karaoke World Championship and show the world how good the Filipino talents are.

We love WOW Videoke!

They later announced that bloggers will have a Karaoke Competition, and yours truly, signed up then and there. You know that instance where I always hog the microphone during family gatherings? My WOW Videoke never fails me, and I am determined to win! But first, Krystle and I practiced at the cute WOW Karaoke booth and sang our favorite songs.

Kenneth Ignacio bagged 1st place at the Bloggers' Karaoke Contest

Nine bloggers showcased their vocal talents at the stage. Some, purely drawn with guts (I think that was just me :P) and inner talent. I won second runner up, singing "Run to You" by Whitney Houston and Montsch won 1st runner up with "Take Me Out of the Dark" by Gary Valenciano. Our Blogger Karaoke Champion is Kenneth singing his rendition of "You" by Basil Valdez.

Thanks KWC Philippines for the invite to this fun event! I hope that we can bring more talents internationally and show the whole world how amazing we are in terms of singing.
