Things have been pretty swell with Janice Javier. After being one of the finalists in The Voice Philippines, she just recently released her self-titled debut album and on July 4, experience "The Voice of Janice Javier: Live in Concert", her first as a recording artist, at Teatrino, Greenhills.

Last week, we had the chance to meet Janice at the MCA Music office and she was one of the talented people I know. Very down to earth and even exchanging jokes with us about "kanin" and how she only had gum before she performed for us.

Now more confident as ever, she's ready to bring all she's got in her concert. Setlist includes "Breathe", her original song and collaboration with her Coach, and covers of "Why Can't It Be", Heaven Knows", "I Believe I Can Fly" and the popular song from the hit movie "Starting Over Again".

"I'd like to be a singer when  grow up", Janice said as she recalls her fondest memories recording on cassette tapes sent to her dad, a 2nd generation Hotdog keyboardist, Rolando Javier. She also said that her 20 years of performing isn't a walk in the park, "One of the most difficult crowds to please are the Filipinos, that's why it's fulfilling."

During her stint at The Voice, Janice is a crowd favorite. As a four-chair turner, she chose as her coach, and he mentored her all the way to the finals. For The Voice aspirants, she has one advice, "Never stop learning, never stop practicing".

I had my photo taken with Janice, because big fan :P
