Yoshinoya Brings Back a Bigger and Better Store at Robinson's Galleria

Welcome to Yoshinoya's Robinson's Galleria Branch!

Good news to the yuppies in Ortigas and residents of Quezon City, Mandaluyong and Pasig, because Yoshinoya has re-opened its newest store last August 12 at the Robinson's Galleria. Located at the Level 1 of the Robinson's Galleria East Wing, Yoshinoya Century Pacific Inc. brings us a much better version of their old store with Japan's favorite beef bowl and more!

My boyfriend and I love Yoshinoya. Since we are heavy eaters, we always order their Jumbo Plates (Php195) because it's affordable and really yummy. Plus factor is how healthy they are: Jumbo A (Beef+Chicken+Vegetables), Jumbo B (Beef+Yakiniku+Bean Sprouts) and Jumbo C (Beef+4 pcs. Tempura+Shredded Cabbage). We always have this whenever we go to the nearest Yoshinoya Branch.

Now with five stores in Metro Manila, you can visit them at Robinson's Galleria, SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, SM City Manila and Glorietta. They first started their operations in the Philippines since December 2001 under the Century Pacific Group.

Yoshinoya's roots came from founder Eikichi Matsuda. Born in 1899, their humble beginnings in Nihonbashi, a fish market in Chuo-ku Tokyo is their first home. Mr. Matsuda created delicious rice and beef recipe known as Gyudon, as his first dish. And because Mr. Matsuda's cooking became an instant hit, he named his store from his birthplace, Yoshino-Cho, Osaka.

But when Japan was hit by the Great Kanto Earthquake, Yoshinoya had to move to Tsukiji with the rest of the fish market. There, hungry patrons continued to enjoy their favorite Gyudon, or Beef Bowl. Only in 1946 did Mr. Matsuda's son, Mizuho, turned Yoshinoya into a 24-hour restaurant. After 12 years, Yoshinoya had become a corporate company for patrons all over Japan is clamoring for its dishes. They now boasts of more than 1,000 outlets in Japan, while all in all, they have 1,400 branches all over the world namely: USA, HongKong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and here in the Philippines.  

Here are their most loved dishes that were served during the Robinson's Galleria Branch Reopening. Its play on flavors are truly authentic Japanese and their prices are truly friendly to your wallet:

Chasu Ramen (Php120, Regular)

Chasu Ramen is best for people who are looking for a hefty noodle excitement. This is not too salty and best during the very cold weather that we are having now. 

Beef Yakiniku (Php 115, Regular)

The Beef Yakiniku is probably my most favorite Yoshinoya dish. The beef has the right sweetness and the bean sprouts compliment the rice dish. I could have this over and over again. 

Kani Salad

If you're looking for something light and healthy, you can opt for their newest dish, the Kani Salad. I am loving the yummy crab sticks with mango and vegetables. It's like eating maki but healthier and more flavorful. 

Pork Katsu

Pork Katsudon  is a Japanese favorite because of its tender pork servings. I think I'll order this again if I'm really hungry because Katsudon is like family to me - I know its there when I need to have my filling of it. 

California Maki (Php59/4pcs) and Kani Shumai (Php59/4pcs)

This one is what I'm excited about. Whenever we go to Yoshinoya SM North EDSA, I would always look if they serve sushi, because they're a Japanese brand and they don't have California Maki. Well now, they answered my wish! Yoshinoya now sells California Maki and see how big their servings are! Now there's no other reason not to go to Yoshinoya for lunch or dinner for me. 

Beef Bowl / Gyudon (Php115, Regular)

Of course, the Beef Bowl will always be present to its hometown. Yoshinoya's Beef Bowl is a classic favorite because its ingredients go well with each other. And since this is an old recipe, I am sure that folks from all over would always have the Beef Bowl that has filled their hunger for many years now.
