A Spiritual Saturday at Kamay ni Hesus Shrine, Lucban, Quezon

Thank God for the long weekend! My Mom has been scheduling a trip to Kamay ni Hesus Healing Center and Church for quite sometime now, but haven't had the time to do so because her schedule doesn't meet with her friends. And then at the last minute, (and with the thunderstorms that is typhoon Mina) our plan finally materialized, just like a miracle.

At 2AM, the rain was pouring hard and the wind was blowing much harder than it was supposed to. Mom said that she prayed to God that He should decide whether we'd go and visit the shrine. Thankfully, the rain got weaker by 4AM, so we then pushed through with our plans. Off to Lucban, Quezon we go!

Kamay ni Hesus is called a "Healing Center" because it is a place where Catholics can go and find refuge with their sickness. May it be physical, spiritual and mentally, everyone is welcome to attend the Healing Mass, officiated every Saturday by its founder, Fr. Joseph "Joey" Faller. 

Not everyone who reads my blog could relate and believe, but for myself, the only thing that will determine you to heal is how strong your faith is. Since I am battling with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), I took the chance of making Fr. Joey to pray over me. 

Unlike the other people who felt like falling when prayed over by Fr. Joey, I did managed to walk after the prayer. Again, it is by faith to know that you're healed. And I thank God that I was part of that Saturday where I felt light in spirit and my worries seem to take a backseat.

At the side of the shrine, a life-sized Garden of Eden was built for visitors to enjoy. Aside from the playground and the huge Ark of Noah, it portrays the Creation of Man and how Adam and Eve was banned from paradise.

After the Garden of Eden, a flight of stairs leading to the Stations of the Cross was depicted by the statues are seen. Its challenging to climb the mountain leading to the huge statue of the resurrected Jesus Christ, but it is worth the effort. Even the view from above is breathtaking, you would be thankful that God created a wonderful place for all of us.

Kamay ni Hesus Shrine is not just open during Holy Week for pilgrimages. It is actually open to everyone who believes that they can be healed. You can also bring the whole family to get closer with God and see the beauty of His love.
