Reader’s Digest Recognizes Most Trusted Brands and Personalities 2022 in PH

Winners were formally recognized in a formal event, the first after 2 years.

For the first time during the two-year ongoing pandemic, Reader’s Digest Asia has recently hosted a grand, physical event for the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands and Personality Awards. The formal awarding ceremonies held on April 8, 2022 at the Garden Ballroom of EDSA Shangri-La Hotel Manila gathered representatives from various local companies that are recipients of the awards for 2022.

Aside from celebrating the 24th year of the Most Trusted Brands in the Philippines, the event also commemorated the 100th year of Reader’s Digest, a global brand with 23 editions across 41 countries globally. The awards night was also a prelude to the Silver year of Reader’s Digest Asia’s Most Trusted Brands in 2023.

“The Most Trusted Brands in the Philippines is the first event off the ranks for all the countries that I look after across Asia,” said Reader’s Digest Asia Pacific Advertising Sales Director Sheron White. The awarding rites were held virtually in 2020 and 2021.

“The way we do business has changed since the pandemic. The value of trust signals such as the Trusted Brands trustmark logo has been helping consumers get the assurance from the brands they patronize,” she added.

Reader’s Digest Asia has kept the methodology constant for determining the Most Trusted Brands in the region. Just like in the previous years (before and during the pandemic), it commissioned market research firm Catalyst Research to conduct an independent online poll of over 8,000 respondents from the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Taiwan. They were asked to identify the brands they trust from over 50 product/service categories.

“Trust in consumer brands is hard to secure. It takes years of careful planning, execution, and nurturing,” said Editor-in-Chief Louise Waterson. “But as we’ve seen so clearly again this year, during times of hardship, brands that live up to their promises continue to enjoy the trust of their customers. Trust is at the heart of what determines a brand’s success or failure.”

In the Philippines, the Most Trusted Brands were identified across nine consumer categories and 57 sub-categories. Here are some of winners this year:

Gold Awards

Gold Trusted brands have earned outstanding scores based on consumers’ perceptions. Some of the Gold Awards recipients in 2022 are the following:

Most Trusted Personalities

Award-winning broadcast journalist Jessica Soho top-billed the Most Trusted Personalities in the Philippines in 2022. The Most Trusted TV News Presenter has received the awards for several years. Throughout her 37-year career, Soho has earned a number of other prestigious recognitions, including the Peabody Award. Her award-winning weekly TV news magazine program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (also popularly known as KMJS) rallies behind the society’s vulnerable as well as tackling the most important issues that widely appeal to viewers and the general public.

Other recipients of the Most Trusted Personalities in the Philippines are Mike Enriquez (Most Trusted Radio Presenter), Senator Manny Pacquiao (Most Trusted Sportsperson), and Vice Ganda (Most Trusted Entertainment/Variety Presenter).
