Have that homey feeling and great food at Anonas Bistro

There's no denying that when it comes to food, your taste buds will always crave for something that feels like home. And even if we are transitioning to a new normal, great dishes and good company continues to stay. Recently, I have been to this newest restaurant in the heart of Quezon City, ANONAS BISTRO, and discovered good food and that feeling of home again.

Anonas Bistro was established amidst the pandemic. Founded by three good friends, Architect Roman Ignacio Jr, Engineer Lucien Aquino, and their Chef Severino Palunday. What originally was planned to be a "kambingan" turned out to be a rustic place where their menu serves different Filipino dishes, and some, with a twist. These friends and businessmen contributes fairly to the business as they have different roles in the restaurant. What makes it heart-warming is that they really pushed through with opening even in the middle of the pandemic, so they can help provide jobs for the people who are affected with our current situation.

I had the chance to try their sumptuous menu with my blogger friends and it was a blast. You see, living alone for months made me miss them. Here are the dishes that you also should try out:

Creamy Vegetable Soup (Free, just ask the Chef!)

Gising Gising with Shrimp (Php275)

Kare-Kare Ox-Tail (Php480)

Inihaw Tuna Belly (Php380)
Creamy Tofu (Php135)

Fried Lumpiang Ubod (Php195)

Banana Ala Mode (Php150)

My favorite would definitely be the Kare-Kare, as the meat was very firm and tasty. My second favorite was the Fried Lumpiang Ubod because it seems new to me and I love the twist that it's fried. Chef Severino Salad should also be in your list, as its special vinaigrette is something special to your palate.

My friends tried the Ampalaya Shake, but it is the Mango Ginger Shake for me. I love how fresh and healthy it is. Plus, fruits and vegetables in a smoothie is best to boost your immune system.

Talking to Chef Sev, they have more plans in the future for Anonas Bistro. He said that they would like to add more dishes to the menu, like Italian or Mediterranean just so there would be variety in what they serve.

You may visit Anonas Bistro at 145 K-6th East Kamias Q.C. They are available for dine-in or take out from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Follow them at their Facebook Page, https://www.facebook.com/Anonas.Bistro or visit their website at https://www.anonasbistro.com/.
