Experience the thrill of gaming at the Taiwan Excellence 2019 Esports Cup Finals


After picking out its 32 semi-finalist teams from the nationwide elimination rounds last July and August, the 2019 Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup is now gearing up for the grand finals happening on October 4-6, 2019, at the SM City North EDSA The Block Atrium in Quezon City.


The three-day event will see exciting battles between top-caliber eSports teams compete in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) Tournament on October 4 (Friday) and the League of Legends (LoL) Tournament on October 5 (Saturday). There will also be a grand Cosplay Competition happening on October 6 (Sunday).


Out of more than 2,000 players who registered for the nationwide eliminations, the 16 teams competing for CS:GO Online Interbranch Semi-Finals happening on September 14 (for CS:GO) are as follows:

Over 2,000 players signed up for the 2019 Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup elimination rounds, which took place in select cyber cafés in various cities all over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao last July and August.


Among the venues used for the elimination rounds were TNC Cyber Café branches in Manila, Quezon City, La Union, Bulacan, Cavite, Legazpi, Bohol, and Bacolod; Miraculum Esports Lounge in Metro Manila; Acclaim Computer Center and Techtite Esports Lounge in Iloilo; and Esports Venue, Metronoia Cyber Café, and NCGC HQ in Mindanao.


Sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), established by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the 2019 Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup now boasts a PHP 430,000 prize pool — a huge jump from the initial amount of P395,000, which was first announced in June.

Aside from the cash prize, the winning team in the CS:GO tournament will have the honor of representing the Philippines in an upcoming international competition, which will take place in Taiwan. The team will be competing against their counterparts from Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, and India.


Winning teams from the branch qualifiers each took home PHP 5,000 in cash and a guaranteed spot at the finals for both CS:GO and LoL tournaments.

Adding to the festivities of the 2019 Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup, actress and cosplayer Myrtle Sarrosa will be making an appearance at the event on October 4, while musician, gamer, and seasoned cosplayer Ashley Gosiengfiao will be joining the fun on October 5.
