SM Stationery Opens Art Fest at SM Megamall

#SMStationeryArtfest opens!

I am a planner girl. I love writing, doodling and coloring. That's why when SM Stationeries invited me to the opening of their first Artfest at the SM Mega Fashion Hall last Wednesday, I was super excited to attend. This event will showcase popular arts and crafts like Calligraphy, Painting, Doodling, and Comic Book Illustration with a fresh, exciting spin from young and talented artists this April 13 to 17.

Celebrity blogger and fashion design student Dani Barretto will share some tips on fashion design; while Harvey Tolibao, who has done work for Marvel and DC Comics, will help participants illustrate their favorite Marvel characters with his comic books illustration workshop.

Papers, journals and lovely stuff from IFEX

It is said that legendary Apple founder Steve Jobs had a background in calligraphy, which influenced him in creating his ground- breaking products. It will be interesting how today’s techies have a second look at it with workshops by The ABCs of Hand Lettering author Abbey Sy, and freehand calligrapher Alexis Ventura as they share styles and techniques on typography and calligraphy.

Doodle enthusiasts will have fun doodling with Doodle Art Enthusiasts Head Lei Melendres; while caricaturist, graphic designer, illustrator, and painter Aaron Manaloto and artist and designer Vin Quilop will share painting techniques in oil pastel and water color painting.

During the opening, there were life sized coloring pages, which we enjoyed, and different booths from partner brands. Shoppers can join the workshop  from April 15 to 17, 2016 when they purchase items at least worth P300 at the Mega Fashion Hall. 

There’s more fun ahead as workshop winners will be given special prizes at the end of the workshop. Some of the booths even have onsite promos and contest.
