Scenic and Foodie Adventure Awaits at Fun Taipei 2018

The first time I heard about Taiwan going visa free for Filipinos, I already had my mind set about visiting the land where Taiwanese Drama, sky lanterns, milk tea and night markets are popular for. When you're crazy about these things, Taipei has a lot of things in store for you. One of my friends thought that he can only see temples around the city, but I can definitely say that the city has many adventures to offer in any type of traveler - may you be going solo, a foodie, or planning a romantic getaway. 

I went to Taipei with my best friend last April for a 4-day trip and we had an unexpected journey ahead of us. We had our itineraries on hand but we also decided to change our plans because we arrived too early. Should I known earlier about Jeron Travel and their packages, we might have spent our Day 1 differently.

Did you know that when Taipei released their visa free program for Philippine visitors, the PH tourists increased to 290,784 or 68.59% since November last year. With good relations with our country, it is actually easy to acquire a Taiwan visa, but it is much better if it's free, right?

And because of this growth, the Department of Information and Tourism created a 24 hour non-stop eating tour campaign for Filipino foodies! The agency sought for help among the famous food and beverage service providers such as breakfast brand My Warm Day, hottest Ma La hot pot, pastry bakery Sunmerry, Smoothie House, world famous beverage maker KQ Tea, chic hotel chain Amba Hotels and Resorts, dry noodle maker Asha Noodles and Fried Chicken Master.

During the launch of the FUN TAIPEI 2018, Taipei City also partnered  with Filipino Youtube Star Mikey Bustos and created a music video, "My New Crushie", together with a Taiwanese girl named Venus. They both toured Taipei, visited the temples, had a gastronomic adventure and so much amazing memories. It was so fun for Mikey that he wanted to go back to Taipei as soon as he got home. 

I can also relate to Mikey's video because during my Taipei trip, I was able to immerse myself to their sights, sounds and even their culture. I love how friendly the people are, how organized their train system is, how their buses are neat and on time. It is also affordable to go to Taipei, and you can enjoy the scenic places even on a tight budget. The street food are sumptuous, you can also practice your haggling skills at their night market and everyday in every corner, Taipei is very much alive!

Deputy Commissioner of Taipei City's Department of Information and Tourism, Chen Yu-hsin mentioned that Mikey is the first foreign celebrity to be invited as Spokesperson to promote Taipei as the perfect city for foodies and shopaholics. This is also one of their ways to thank Filipinos for choosing Taipei as one of their favorite travel destinations.

And with that, you can visit the FUN TAIPEI 2018 on July 6 at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center to witness Mikey perform "My New Crushie", sample at their food stations, DIY sessions and an interactive photo studio, and see how fun it really is in Taipei.
