An Update from Meralco

Have you received your latest Meralco bill? It has been buzzing all over the news that our electricity for November and December will have an upward adjustment due to the maintenance of some power plants and the Camago-Malampaya natural gas pipeline. According to Meralco, this may possibly carry over to January 2014, so what shall we do to at least maintain our consumption? They have just the thing to that.

Before I give you the tips, I have read that the Camago-Malampaya pipeline had a scheduled maintenance from November 9 to December 8. And since they supply 50% of Meralco's energy requirements, they are running into a limited capacity which made them use a more expensive fuel to further the operations. Good thing that this is all temporary. Meralco assures that after the maintenance, they are looking forward to normalize the rates come February 2014. So for now, especially during the holidays when merriment is impossible to resist, here are the tips on how to save your consumption:

High power consumption shouldn't get in the way of fun this holiday season. Just follow the tips from Meralco and I'm sure that you wouldn't have to worry much about your bill when it arrives. And always remember that if you're not using it, then you should turn it off.

Merry Christmas everyone!
