The Christmas season is all about the spirit of giving. And give is what the American Eye Center, the country’s leading eye care center, will do this Yuletide season.

In line with its support of Filipinos working abroad, the American Eye Center is giving eligible OFWs the ultimate gift with its Pamaskong Handog OFW Privilege Card through its Shangri-La and Greenbelt branches. With the OFW Privilege Card, kababayans can now secure eye health for themselves and for their dependents from anywhere in the world through discounts on diagnostics and treatments.

“The essence of the holidays is giving back to the community and American Eye Center does so by honoring our beloved OFWs. These modern day Filipino heroes deserve much recognition and we do that by offering quality eye care for them and the rest of their families through our exclusive OFW Privilege Card,” says American Eye Center’s COO Dr. Benjamin Cabrera.

American Eye Center offers the OFW Privilege Card to all overseas Filipino workers and their qualified dependents. The card is absolutely free and entitles the bearer to a 50 percent discount on comprehensive eye examinations and 15 percent discount for their dependents. The card also allows special 20 percent discount on cataract surgery, 15 percent discount on All Laser or Bladeless LASIK, and 10 percent off on diagnostic procedures.

The card also offers exclusive discounts at American Eye Center partner SPEX Optical. All OFW’s need to do is set an appointment and present valid overseas employment documents to avail of these unlimited discounts starting December 2013 to March 2014.

Eye health and OFWs

“American Eye Center honors OFWs with this privilege because we believe and respect the sacrifices they make to provide a better life for their families. In order to do so, these modern day heroes need to be physically up to take on this challenge which is where eye health comes in. They deserve nothing short of optimum eye health to achieve overall well-being,” Dr. Cabrera said.

Food, Music and Fun at Cafe Lupe Antipolo

Everytime I go to Antipolo, I can't help but fall in love with the bright lights around it. I just can't remember leaving it on a daytime, because I don't wanna miss its sparkle. It's like a different world out there, and I'm just thankful that The Road Trippers spent their Christmas Get Together at Cafe Lupe, where there are lights, fun, food and gifts.

Cafe Lupe
Cafe Lupe is located at 267-269 Comoda Ville Inc., Don Juan Sumulong Ave., Valley Golf, Brgy. Mambugan, Antipolo. Its owner, Mr. Alvin Carranza, generously opened its doors for our group to hold a simple get together. But before I tell you the details on how our fun party went, Cafe Lupe is a restaurant that specializes in Mexican, Filipino and Bacolod dishes. There is a function room, where you can hold intimate parties, or you can sit outside and hear really good music from the performers.

Prizes for everyone

Thanks to Mr. Carranza, we all got Christmas gifts for everyone! A raffle was also held from different sponsors from the blogger friends. Anne and I got the grand prizes, with her winning a Eurotel accommodation, and I, a power bank from Kuya Bong. Aylin also raffled off accessories from Classiore.

After our gift giving, we enjoyed the acoustic night from the performers and got full from the sumptuous food that we ordered from their wide ranged menu. We ordered the Mexican Party Platter (Php1,500), a combination of nachos, burritos, buffalo chicken. I loved how colorful it is and being a fan of Mexican food, this one is great to consume for group parties. Plus, you can always choose what you would like to eat and savor your favorite.

The HUGE Mexican Party Platter
5 stars for presentation (They even have pink nachos!)
Can this picture show you how crunchy and yummy these are?
We also ordered the Calamares Fritos (Php375) and it is perfect for our drinks. A bucket of beer (Php350) goes well with their menu. Add music and friends with you, and you'll surely have the best night ever.

My favorite flavored beer
Cafe Lupe is open from 8:00 am to 2:00 am from Monday to Sunday. I think their flexible schedule won't let you have an excuse not to come and visit. Now that I've finally seen a great dining place in Antipolo with Cafe Lupe, I'm definitely coming back for more of their dishes, the sights, and even the sound.

Thank you JayL for the photo!
As for The Road Trippers, 2013 has been a good year. I'm so excited of our upcoming plans for next year. Merry Christmas blogger/traveling friends! Here's hoping to share more trips with you.

An Update from Meralco

Have you received your latest Meralco bill? It has been buzzing all over the news that our electricity for November and December will have an upward adjustment due to the maintenance of some power plants and the Camago-Malampaya natural gas pipeline. According to Meralco, this may possibly carry over to January 2014, so what shall we do to at least maintain our consumption? They have just the thing to that.

Andres Bonifacio's 150th Anniversary at Tutuban Center

Press Release:

Tutuban Center joins the celebration of Gat Andres’ 150th birth anniversary—The spirit of courage and selflessness of a genuine hero lives on through this modern generation as Tutuban Center, the country’s top bargain-shopping hub, commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Gat Andres Bonifacio with a solemn yet meaningful wreath-laying ceremony held at the Bonifacio Plaza in front of Tutuban Center.

Held every 30th of November, this year’s Bonifacio Day is deemed a very special day this 2013 as Filipinos celebrate the hero’s 150th birthday amid challenges and other difficulties that test the nation’s resolve, resiliency and ability to rise and be united as a country. The paying of respects to Andres Bonifacio for his heroism and valuable contributions to the country’s independence was led by no less than Tutuban Center officials and top executives of Tutuban Properties, Inc. (TPI), the developer of the popular shopping destination. Joining them in the wreath-laying ceremony were officials of the City of Manila, the National Historical Institute of the Philippines (NHIP), the Manila Police Department and Philippine National Railways (PNR).

Shown in photo during the ceremony were Ms. Carmina R. Arevalo, National Historical Institute of the Philippines’ deputy executive director for Administration; Hon. Councilor Dennis B. Alcoreza, 1st District, Todo Lungsod ng Maynila; Mr. Kits R. Aquino, Tutuban Properties, Inc.’s SVP-General Manager and Mr. Chris C. Food Franchising at Its Best with Stallmart

During my early twenties, I ventured into online selling in Multiply. From that experience, I learned that having your own business entails a lot of hard world and gazillions of patience. Now that I'm older (and hopefully wiser), it's timely that Stallmart introduced us bloggers the wonders of Food Franchising Business.

Have a Slenda and Healthy Body

Pumapayat Ka Na!

These three words are music to my ears. Why? Because after all the dieting, workout and other things that I do, it is finally noticeable. And just recently, I have been adding something to lose weight - thanks to Blogapalooza 2013, I finally discovered the Slenda Herbal Dietary supplement.
