Star World Launches American Idol Season 12

The American Idol takes the center stage once again as it premiered last January 17 at the URBN Bar and Kitchen at the Fort Strip, BGC. To celebrate the Idol's kickoff, a exclusive viewing party was made possible by Star World, inviting the media people, Twitter idols and the hottest celebrities. The event was hosted by DJ Suzy and DJ Tracy Abad from 5PM to 12MN. As a fan of the TV program, I was super excited to see the idol hopefuls and the new judges, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban.

As a Mariah Carey fan since...well, forever, I chose to side in her team. They have given us balloons, giveaways and special items which I absolutely adored. The Team Minaj also put up a fight as they cheered for their rap idol. The program started with welcome remarks from Ms. Jude Turcuato, VP Territory Head of Fox International Channels, Philippines then followed by the American Idol Seasn 12 Screening at 6 P.M., which also is the official timeslot of the AI12 at Star World. For the Idol fanatics, a repeat screening was held at 8 PM, while raffle prizes were given off EVERY commercial break!

But enough about the event, the limelight shines at the American Idol Season 12 as it is expected to still be the #1 Reality Entertainment Show from US to the PH. The revamped judging panel, with the new judges, Mariah Carey, country singer Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj joins Randy Jackson as they screen these hopefuls to be the next big thing to go to Hollywood. It's actually exciting to see how Mariah will test the contestants, considering that she has been a singing icon for many years already.

Adding to the AI12 excitement is the "American Idol Small Town Audition Bus Tour" and “Nominate an Idol” program, a first among all the Idol Seasons. This will not only challenge the contestants, but I believe the judges as well. Find out the different twists, stories and successes of the contestants only at Star World, the Home of Idols.
