Mister Musubi: Spam Goodness at Every Bite

Mister Musubi says MAHALO!
I'm a firm believer that spam should be included in the basic food groups. I can actually attest that I can have them at any time of the day, and never get tired of it. Then one day, my friend Yen tweeted me about a certain Mister Musubi that's from Hawaii and told me I had to try it.

My Musubis arrived!
Mister Musubi's products are Spam Musubis. Spam what? A brief background, musubis are like sushi, only they are topped with spam instead of fish. They use of Japanese rice that is cooked to steaming perfection and shaped into a square. On the top is filled with a slice of Spam goodness and wrapped in a roasted seaweed. See how it looks like a sushi? Only Spam Musubi is bigger and less fishy.

Mister Musubi originated in Hawaii but is eaten in the tradition of a Japanese omusubi. What makes it taste so good is because of their ingredients and they make their own sauces. Musubis are also hand-made individually. Its also fresh, that when you want one, you need to pre-order it so they could make them for you. I attached their Menu above for orders.

Yummy Tonkatsu Musubi!
If you want to try them all, you could also buy their latest product, the MUSUBITES. Its a variety of 6 bite-sized Spam Musubis (P150) that includes flavors like Teriyaki, Teriyaki Wasabi. Kalbi, Spam A.M., Tonkatsu and The Little Kahuna. My favorite was the Tonkatsu since they have this little plastic bottle of Tonkatsu sauce that comes with it and I have this thing for katsu. :)

Fresh ingredients in every musubi
I also loved the Spam Kalbi. I even asked my officemates to join me eating it, and since I'm not into spicy dishes, Archie chomped on to the Spam Wasabi. See? Mister Musubi also enriches your relationship with your family and friends. I also suggest that you order the Party Platter with 20 musubis of the same flavor, halved in two for party size bites (Php1000). So get them now and enjoy the musubi goodness.

Thanks to Mister Musubi for the awesome musubis! :)

  5. Interesting, and not surprising as Hawaiians are supposedly big on SPAM like we Pinoys are :)
